Budget Mondays

September 9, 2014

Monday – 9/82014

It’s Monday – a painful day for most people, yours truly included. Sometimes it is made even more painful as we remember just how much money we ended up spending over the weekend.

It’s one word that can make people cringe, angry and sad all at the same time; a rare occurrence indeed. There are plenty of reasons for this – people are told at work that their budgets are being cut, their ideas cannot be funded because they are not in the budget, and in our personal life, our budgets don’t usually quite match up to our desires.

Every week we talk about methods, ideas, and strategies that you can use to make your dollars stretch and work harder for you. Most of the ideas featured here, and in budget columns everywhere, focus on expenses and making those expenses are low as possible. Many people think that they if make more money, however, that their budget problems will instantly go away.

That simply is not the case.

An article posted in the Wall Street Journal documents have people earning $200,000, $300,000, or even $400,000 can still end up in the red.

Food for thought!
